Pros

Clean office and half-decent Christmas party

Cons

I would not recommend working here to anyone. The business is managed terribly: low pay, stupidly high expectations and complete lack of empathy for employees. Never have I worked so hard for such little reward. Never in 20 years have I felt so low in my self esteem. The workers have not received a pay rise for how many years before I even got there? Buttercups are constantly overwhelmed by the number of their apprentices, but they employ staff like they are allergic to them. One month I was there, 19 people left after working their 4 weeks notice and 3 people were hired. Their way of dealing with low staff levels is to take responsibility for certain tasks away from one department and lump them onto another department to deal with. I have worked with them for a little over a year. I really tried to make it work but the stressful workload and the behaviour of those above forced me out. I had to make a stand and decide what was more important: that terrible job or my mental health, so I walked out of the job. I've never done anything like that before and I have a really solid work ethic. So, yeah, it was pretty bad. I've worked for the NHS, MOJ and Welfare Rights. All these places were and still are under huge pressures and facing cuts from the government and they still manage to care for and treat their staff better than Buttercups. Do not be fooled by the pleasant name. Steer away. Work or study somewhere you'll be appreciated.

Pros

The people working at the same level as you or below are lovely, warm and friendly.

Cons

You get no sick pay and the minimum holiday allowance, no cost of living allowance has been given for some time now. Working caseloads are unachievable meaning you will never meet your targets.

An untrustworthy company

Pros

Colleagues who experience the same rubbish as you are supportive and keep you going! Working from home. Introduction of Christmas party.

Cons

Where to start: They are not a family, don’t fall for it. Salary; they pay pharmacists more than techs for exactly the same job so discrimination is rife. They lie about a yearly salary review, don’t take less money at the start expecting it to increase. No rate of inflation increase: staff can earn the same for many many years! Technicians don’t progress as much as pharmacists. Management are shockingly incompetent and expect the world, felt bullied by my manager. The company has grown too big too soon, and headless chickens springs to mind. Annual leave is poor. Pension contribution is low. No sick pay.
