Pros

- It’s still a pretty large household brand when it comes to movies and outdoor entertainment - It can still be a decent place if you like pushing orders from the top and get it done at any cost!

Cons

- The lockdown has been harsh on BookMyShow and the general empathy and transparency in handling the situation has gone downwards with time. - Any left over camaraderie and hustle that made Engineering a more cohesive unit has absolutely vanished. The new leaders have honestly made the place transactional. - Engineering has lost some good people due to a rather degrading culture and at times even insulting behaviour from the top. - There is litte or no space for a contrarian conversation. You might find yourself shut down hard in public forums as the new folks in charge know it all! - Massive amounts of insecurity from the top has led to micromanaging at the least and sometimes even snooping and back channel politics that’s pretty disturbing. - Optics matter more than performance. There’s little effort made to actually use data to understand what’s going right. - Almost any attempts at creating new products other than the core movies and events business haven’t really been attempted with the fervour they deserve. - Any progress we made on becoming Agile is kinda destroyed given the appalling attitude from top towards the general systems that brought in some sanity.
