Pros

Great company outlook, the passion of the company will have you motivated and ready to start a career that you love. This field gives an opportunity to not only grow as a person, but to grow as a business professional. Property management has it's challenges of dealing with one of the most important financial decisions ones can make, it can difficult, yet extremely rewarding to make someones day. As a leasing professional, you are able to create fun events and manage resident retention. Marketing is also a HUGE part of your job description, so be prepared to DRIVE, a lot.

Cons

It is incredibly difficult to have a work-life balance when you are expected to work weekends but only receive a day AND A HALF off because we are open for a whole three hours on Sunday. That is just ridiculous. Just close on Sunday and have your hours set from 9-5 on Saturday. Having an establishment open for three hours is nothing short of greedy. We have emergency maintenance staff for a reason. Maybe your associates would be more available to work on Weekends if they received a full two days off each week. The pay is alright, very low to other competitors and for the amount of work that we complete, the pay should be MUCH higher.

Pros

Great place to work if you love the industry! The owners are amazing and really try to know the employees. Feels like a family. Great parties at corporate.

Cons

Small company that likes to gossip. Not much opportunity to advance. Can't really trust the people you work with which makes for a bad working environment. LOTS of drama... not at corporate but in the properties.

Nice Company to Work For

Pros

Receive a lot of paid training and opportunities to be involved in community functions/networking events related to property management. Home Office does a good job of being included with what's going on with property functions and offering support when needed. I've never felt like I couldn't reach out to someone for help. Annual employee appreciation functions. Great health benefits and opportunities for monthly/quarterly bonuses. Great Regional managers when you need them. A lot of opportunities to learn and grow.

Cons

"Home Office" seems out of touch with the fairness of onsite property employees. Their office hours are different (they close earlier than the properties and also aren't open on weekends). They also benefit from being closed on all federal holidays, where all properties are forced to work, with the exception of New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Upper onsite management needs more supervision, there is a lot of "do as I say, not as I do" mentality, which leaves the other employees stressed and with more responsibilities than what is in their job description or are being paid to do.
