Pros

My immediate co-workers. Finding it difficult to put 20 words here about the good things about this company. The commute to work was close and not a lot of traffic.

Cons

Everything is a con! Read the job descriptions carefully! I agree with most reviews for this company. Read "Bloody torture." I completely agree! I just read some of the job posting descriptions, and the work-life balance is a joke. They expect 100% from you, 100% of the time with nothing in exchange. No raises, no praise and they accuse all the production issues on over- worked, under experienced and under paid associates instead of looking at management. They expect you to give up your personal life for them at the drop of a hat. Management shows up half way through the work day, and don't bother to get involved with the staff. Too many smoke breaks, too busy with their own agendas to get involved with the daily operations. Total lack of involvement where it belongs. No formal training. Loads of false promises with no follow through. Several people left and they are completely clueless of the reality of why they have left. More people are looking to leave. Some of the managers are down right scary and mean!

It’s hard to believe everything is a “con” when you look at the number of years so many NRI Associates have been at the firm. In fact, with 27% of employees having 10 years or more experience at the company, I do not believe the Associates feel that “everything is a “con”, with all that longevity. The company honors their employees annually based on longevity with dinners/luncheon’s known as The Marathon Club. As far as work-life balance, that is strictly up to the employee. As with every company, the harder you work, sometimes equating to hours, the more you will succeed and grow. NRI is a fourth generation family-owned business and family is of the utmost importance to ownership and management. I have never seen anyone denied a personal day when important family business is warranted. The company abides by the Phillip Crosby Training Program, which is formal training for all Associates.

Pros

A good work pace and not too many stressful days. The production staff is fairly nice and are sometimes willing to help you if need.

Cons

Lack of promotion for people within. Pay is very low for some levels while others make a comfortable wage. Not everyone is treated fairly by managers.

Many people have been promoted from within over the past few years, and with increased pay. We certainly try to treat everyone respectfully and fairly.

Pros

The people who work here are very nice and many have been here for over 20 years, some over 30. Several of us have been promoted, some more than once, from within and have build our careers here. Even in the slow economy there have been several promotions for those performing well. The company has transitioned over the decades keeping the company in business. Rather than remain in a stagnate industry they have found ways to develop new businesses and expand while their competitors were becoming defunct. The benefit plans are some of the best in the industry and they offer ample time off. It is easy to get up in the morning to come to work at NRI.

Cons

The downturn in the economy has caused some layoffs and salary cuts. Associates have increased their workloads with the promise that there will be light at the end of this economy.
