Pros

The best thing about working for Baxter Storey is knowing you are giving a 100% effort to get a job elsewhere.

Cons

My partner is a Chef. The company where they work was taken over by Baxter Storey last year. Last night they were working nights. The day shift hadn't left any indication of the ingredients of one of the dishes. My partner had to pay for a whole portion in order to taste it just to find out what it was so that they could tell the customers when service begun. This is the most despicable episode of several since they took over. Because they do not employ enough staff, people are under tremendous pressure and genuinely take days off because they are constantly poorly. That creates extra pressure on those who are holding the fort. The latest little left field treasure: catering staff are not allowed to purchase a bottle of cold water, even though they are working in a boiling kitchen on a 12 hour shift. They are only allowed to buy sugary fizzy drinks (healthy option eh?), knowing they won't drink this rubbish by choice. They are not allowed to take their own bottled water into work, even though the tap water is vile and not filtered. Get this - they are all too scared to protest as jobs are not easy to find in this area.
