Pros

The biggest pro would have to be that no work place could be quite as bad in comparison. I went into the role having had great managers in my previous positions and it was an eye opening experience having managers who were the complete opposite. The constant criticism has made me tougher and I defiantly learnt how NOT to manage a business if I ever make it to that role myself.

Cons

My time there was spent in misery, mainly due to the constant micro management style from the two directors. They hired fully capable, brilliant individuals with a vast amount of knowledge and skills and then would slowly break them down. The staff turnaround should really speak for itself! In my time there it was about 90% turn over, with 4 people leaving in one brutal week. Bearing in mind it was a small office of about 14 this was extreme. However the directors didn’t seem to think this high turnaround was a problem, in fact it was everyone’s fault but their own. My job role was continually changed from week to week to the point I would have to fight to do the job I was hired for. When someone left (which was very often) the new employee would have a completely different title and they would often throw mis matched jobs together. They didn’t have any structure to the business. There was no progression for staff, training structure or support system. Everything was dis organised and a complete mess, however much you tried to help organise things and put a system in place the managers would put you down unless it was their idea . Small things were over analysed, there was no productivity and creative people were put down and stifled. They didn’t want to pay any money to anyone. A lot of my time was spent trying to get out of paying people for things we owed them. A complete waste of my time and there’s and quite frankly a bit embarrassing. They were forceful and rude but always did it with a smile on their face, the definition of passive aggressive.

It is always disappointing to see a negative review, particularly when it is so clearly untrue. At Balance Me we take employee wellbeing and engagement very seriously and have a number of initiatives and benefits in place to ensure that Balance Me is a positive and engaging place to work.

Pros

They do employ very intelligent & brilliant people.... however with 95% turn over it doesn't last -read below! Another pro has to be location of HQ & also the products actually (such a shame nothing else works)

Cons

Lots...... read below: The problem is - they are clueless who they are as a brand. One minute they want to be REN the next minute it's Clinique the next it's Philisophy. This causes confusion not only for them but from a customer perspective when they change their packaging regularly. They are 2 sisters who come across very sweet but I believe they micro managed very strongly & the office feels very tense especially as you know your on the hit list next when something else doesn't work. With zero budget it's virtually impossible to do any job they employed you to do. You leave a meeting with them confused deflated and quite frankly .... broken! Such a shame as for a "natural organic healthy" brand they are the polar opposite. Don't let the politeness fool you - they are infect quite harsh & vindictive . The rumours id heard are intact true - & a previous owner / director I believe was cut out through their awful ways. I have no personal disk like to them but they do need to change the way they run the company as quite frankly it's a sinking ship!
