Pros

Friendly and intelligent team of people Good office location

Cons

- Terrible hours - There is absolutely no career path for many roles including Developer in BSTRO - There are lots of pressure on Developers and that is the main reason many of them leave the company/high turn over - Verbally abusive/micro managing manager - The manager is very forgetful, he frequently changes his mind after making a decision, forgets many of the decisions he has made and blames employees for things that are his fault - What kind of company hire at full tilt only to lay off people a few weeks down the road? And just so that they can pretty up the balance sheet?

Pros

Female-led business Cool office space in Gastown

Cons

Extremely toxic work environment. The CEO is abusive and the business talks about female leadership and diversity but it echoes the same rhetoric that bullying work cultures have. Senior leadership is non-exsistent. There's plenty of gossip and putting the team down. It went from 30 people down to 10. Clients aren't resigning because it's not worth it.

Pros

- Great management teams. Always patient, readily available to help, and incredibly talented. There's no fear or shame in asking the same question twice - Structured full time hours - Management respects the teams personal time, and promotes a healthy work life balance - An amazingly friendly and personable team. I met some of my best friends once I started working at BSTRO - Many opportunities to grow as developers, as I've been trained to use/have learned several languages I hadn't worked with prior to joining the team at BSTRO - Receive independence to lead development projects - BSTRO recognizes the increase in your value as a developer as you grow - and show initiative in frequent salary renegotiations

Cons

- Would prefer long term WFH opportunities
