I worked at BD full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

-Great people to work with - very intelligent, hard-working teams -Great benefits -Focuses on employee career development -Extracurricular team activities frequently organized

    Cons

-Limited resources in almost all departments; everyone overworked -Not uncommon but is a global company and is heavily reliant on US HQ direction (internal services, e.g. HR and IT centralized and taken away from Canada)

    I worked at BD full-time

    Pros

Good products, had some great co-workers....many fired or have left

    Cons

MMS Canada (IV Pumps and pyxis machines) turned into a horrible place to work.....good people being fired left right and center, or planning their exits. It used to be a great to work in under previous leadership but new leadership has no business at all running a team. I hope Sr. BD Canada leadership realises this and makes some changes!!!!! If you see a job posting for this division, please keep looking, you deserve better! (this review is for MMS only, things seem to be better in other BD divisions)

    I worked at BD full-time

    Pros

Work there for 2 years.Products are interesting. You are exposed to various technologies. Lot of networking and highly skilled people. It is a great learning opportunity but do not stay that long. The pay is borderline ok. There medical insurance is good.

    Cons

Too many policies, micro-management and unreachable goals setup by management. Attendance policy is strict and very harsh. Too much calls expectation for technical people. It is more like a call center than a technical call center. As a tech person, you will feel like a walking answering machine sometimes. Bonuses are a joke and always end up being less because you didn't meet the goals. You got only trained once when you are hired. After that, you are on your own and will learn on the floor. Some of the staff is "cold impolite" (loud burps) and not professional and not welcoming. You either get along with people or don't. A lot of immature people. No office culture.

Benefits are OK, The compensation level is adequate

    Cons

-The communication inside the company is joke!! -The management at all levels are liars -I heard about better things in the US but in Canada is just a joke .Nobody care about anything. They are very cheap on the new technology and etc -Every other day you can hear that people are leaving this company -This company does a great stuff in the US but in Canada is very disorganized, and unprofessional people

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at BD full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Decent wages and benefits and bonuses. External training in related fields subsidized where available. Good at diversified hiring practices.

    Cons

Stressful working atmosphere. Understaffing in most areas results in work overload and unrealistic expectations from managers. Poorly trained front line managers that are more interested in making themselves look good at associates expense. Little room for advancement. Nepotism and favoritism in some hiring and job openings has occurred. Constant revolving door for Country Manager turnover resulting in no long tern direction by leadership. Human Resources is not always trusted to respond favorably to Associates concerns. Clear disconnect of the distribution associates from the office associates.

I have been working at BD full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

"Job Description" was very exciting. Benefit package was OK.

    Cons

No leadership. No strategy. No execution by Senior Leaders. Career warfare at its finest (however I doubt most BD leaders have read the book). Be very careful who you commit to as they will simply pass off all field / associate successes that you have as their own and throughout the leadership team you will be a ghost.
