Pros

Real tough question... moving on

Cons

Extremely overworked and understaffed. You will work countless unrecorded hours to prevent yourself from drowning in work - this means working a few extra hours EVERY weeknight and don’t make too many plans on the weekend because you’ll need to fit a few hours of work in on Saturday and Sunday as well. They will not pay you for more than 5 hours of OT a week so plan on working many hours that will be free of pay. The workload is hard to put into words. It’s absolutely unbearable. You are working 30-40 leads a day just churning out garbage insurance policies as fast as you possibly can so you don’t get swallowed by the day. You might as well forget about lunch, vacation and family. Just forget the words even exist. The environment is toxic. Every sales rep is absolutely miserable (understandable) but scared to speak up. Management turns a blind eye even though they know there sales team is dying slowly. They know they are understaffed but refuse to hire help. Reps that quit are replaced but they will not bring in additional help. Considering the amount of people on unemployment during the pandemic and this place still finds ways to be understaffed is mind boggling. The commission structure is terrible. You’d think in any sales job if you had 150-200 sales a month you’d rolling in money. Not here! That might not even get you to the bare minimum to hit quota. If you are looking for an insurance sales job, go somewhere else. You can make the same amount of money you would here in any other sales position without working 60 hours a week and feeling like a shell of your former self. Also, for every bad review this company receives on here, they’ll immediately have a 5 star review posted to maintain their rating. Just expect a rave 5 star review to follow this one, it’s not true.

Pros

Made some good friends amongst my peers.

Cons

The company started out with a great sense of focusing on what they are great at... selling small business workers comp insurance. Ownership got greedy and decided to expand company about 50% within a year or 2 to try to become a “full service agency”. After that, the company completely lost sight. Too many secrets with management and sales reps were walking on eggshells with constant “impulse” changes happening within the organization. The company wants a “yes man” and if you have opinions against changes or structure you get a sense of being an outsider. They preach work/life balance but make it impossible to take a day or 2 off. You’ll come back to work completely behind and playing catch up. The money you make will decrease year to year as they seem to make it harder to achieve the standard quota.

Pros

You get good benefits that you can get at any other company

Cons

- One of the managers makes you feel bad for wanting to take time off - When you do get time approved, you'll always be behind when you get back - The managers disclose personal information about employees to other employees - The office is full of drama - There is no such thing as a work/life balance - Management judges you if you don't "fit their company culture" - Declining morale, lack of organization and lack of connection with employees... the negatives of a "fast growing company" represented at AP - It's not a "family environment" there even if you have your own group of friends - One of the managers only cares about you and is happy at the end of the month when you've hit your number - High quota with crap leads - One of the managers will bring outside drama into the office... causing a scene at employees desks on the sales floor in front of the whole office - One of the managers sends their employees on alcohol runs
