This was an extremely negative workplace experience. There were clear issues with power dynamics, where certain individuals operated and (micro-)managed down with little oversight, contributing to a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere on a near-constant basis. Concerns around professionalism were also present, including inappropriate discussions in shared spaces regarding employees’ personal lives.
The company promotes itself as values-driven, particularly around diversity and culture, but this is largely performative rather than meaningfully embedded in the workplace (especially on public-facing social media platforms). DE&I initiatives did not translate into a supportive day-to-day environment.
There was also an emphasis on minor perks and external image that felt like a distraction from more fundamental issues related to employee treatment and workplace culture. A $5 Starbucks gift card doesn’t mitigate day-to-day passive-aggression or poor onboarding/training. Also, just an absolute LOL moment that the most positive review on this platform is from “Ceo-founder, Current employee.” Point in case.
I would absolutely not recommend working here given the plethora of other successful, more stable PR agencies in Boston/NY.
