Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) pursues the upper echelon of motherboard producers. Founded in 1987, the company was the first motherboard manufacturer to be listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. Today the company additionally makes notebook and personal computers, graphics cards, and computer peripherals. With manufacturing facilities in China, ECS distributes its products in more than 60 countries and churns out some 2.5 million motherboards and 200,000 notebook computers monthly. The company plans to open branch offices in Brazil, India, and Russia, in addition to its existing facilities in China, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, and the US.
