Mission To provide a comprehensive program of counseling and support services in an educational environment that links students, families, and educators, positively impacting academic and emotional success.
Description Outreach Concern, Inc. is a non profit 501(c)(3) agency co-founded in 1993 by Dr. Rick Capaldi. Since its inception, Outreach Concern has provided a variety of counseling support services to more than 900,000 children, adolescents, and families in over 1,000 elementary, secondary and high schools throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties and trained over 10,000 behavioral health interns.
Outreach Concern contracts with private and public elementary and secondary schools throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties to provide a variety of counseling and pupil personnel services. These schools pay an annual stipend, which covers approximately one-third of the cost of the program. Direct counseling services in the school environment are provided by intern-counselors (the term "counselors" will now be substituted for "interns" throughout this document) and are placed on campuses according to school needs and the skill level of the counselor, as determined by Outreach Concern.
COUNSELORS contracted with Outreach Concern, Inc. are selected from every college and university throughout the country. They bring with them a variety of experience from an undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level, many working toward licensure in a related field, or desiring exposure to the field of counseling, or completing degree requirements. Specializations in Psychology, Sociology, M.F.T., Pupil Personnel Services, and Child and Adolescent Development make up the diverse backgrounds of the counselors Outreach Concern places in its contracted schools.

Counselors receive multi-topic seminars to acquaint them with agency expectations, the tools to work effectively on the job, weekly individual supervision by the Outreach Concern Regional field Supervisor team, and weekly group supervision from licensed mental health practitioners throughout Southern California.
