Habermaass GmbH boasts a successful "toy story" all its own. Operating through a handful of divisions, the German manufacturing company makes wooden toys, games, outdoor equipment, and youth furniture geared toward babies and children. Under the HABA brand names, Habermaass distributes its products to 6,000 specialized dealers and operates agencies in 20 countries worldwide. Its mail order division, JAKO-O, offers a lineup of toy products for children up to 10 years of age, while its Wehrfritz division is a supplier of residential furniture, playground equipment, toys, and craft supplies. Habermaass GmbH is owned by Klaus Habermaass, whose father started the business in the 1930s.
