Our Story Strive Living Society’s roots date back to 1988 when a psychologist and social worker realized a vision to change the way society supported individuals with disabilities and health-related issues. Strive Living Society began with the opening of a single home in North Vancouver, supporting three individuals who had previously been considered "too challenging" to live successfully in the community. Guided by a belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a meaningful and fulfilling life, Strive set out to create person-centered supports that empower individuals to thrive. Today, Strive has grown into a leading non-profit organization supporting more than 800 children, youth, and adults across British Columbia. We provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, acquired brain injuries, mental health challenges, physical disabilities, medical complexities, dementia, and diverse support needs. Our services extend beyond staffed living homes and include community inclusion programs, drop-in centres, home-sharing, supported independent living, day programs, and a variety of community-based supports. Every program we operate is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), reflecting our commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Headquartered in the beautiful city of Coquitlam, Strive is proud to support individuals and families throughout communities across British Columbia. While we have grown significantly over the years, our mission remains the same: helping people live with dignity, choice, inclusion, and belonging in the communities they call home.
