Big White is currently seeking a qualified, creative and detail-oriented Visual Merchandiser to join our team for the 2026-27 winter season.
Our Visual Merchandiser will be imaginative, inspired, and driven by creativity and originality. They will be responsible for the visual presentation across a variety of unique mountain retail outlets, featuring products ranging from ski and snowboard equipment to fashion, giftware, and more. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in visual merchandising; while experience in the snowsports industry is a plus, it is not essential. At times, the Visual Merchandiser may also assist customers on the retail floor—providing outstanding service through strong product knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for helping guests find gear and gifts that enhance their experience and create lasting memories of their time at Big White.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Design, create, and implement in-store visual displays that effectively showcase merchandise, enhance guest experience, and drive retail sales
Plan and execute seasonal floor changes, product launches, and promotional displays in alignment with store direction and merchandising strategy
Maintain strong visual merchandising standards across all retail spaces, ensuring displays are consistently fresh, organized, and professionally presented
Oversee product placement and inventory visibility on the sales floor, coordinating restocks and ensuring key items remain well represented
Provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to retail sales associates on display maintenance, product presentation, and visual standards
Collaborate with management and supervisors to optimize store layout, traffic flow, and product placement, while providing feedback on display performance, product trends, and merchandising opportunities to improve sales outcomes
Attend product knowledge and training sessions to maintain strong understanding of merchandise and brand direction
Assist customers on the sales floor when and as required by the Manager
Create signage and visual communication materials to support promotions, product storytelling, and store presentation standards
Required Qualifications:
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide, support, and work collaboratively with retail teams
Minimum two years of experience in visual merchandising or a related retail/creative field, with hands-on experience in display creation, execution, and maintenance
Creative and detail-oriented with a strong eye for visual presentation, balance, and brand consistency
Adaptable and able to respond quickly to changing priorities, seasonal resets, and promotional needs
Approachable, dependable, and a strong team player who contributes to a positive workplace culture
Ability to engage effectively with guests and staff of all ages with patience, professionalism, and enthusiasm
Physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting merchandise, and assisting with the setup and installation of displays
Committed to maintaining high visual standards and ensuring store presentation is consistently polished and well-executed

Duration:
Start date mid October 2026. The winter season at Big White closes in mid-April 2027
Wages:
Starting wage $21 an hour
This is a full time position and we endeavor to provide between 32-40 hours work per week, however there may be times when you are required to work more or fewer hours than this.
Candidate selection and interviews will begin in June 2026.
The minimum salary is $21.00 and the max salary is $21.00.
