I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at trivago in Nov 2024
Interview
Terrible interview process. No human interaction in the first 2 rounds. 1st round was asked to record 3 minute videos each for 10 questions and upload. Then sent a case study to work and upload. No reply for 3-4 weeks and then sends a generic email that solution was not detailed enough. It looks like my presentation was not detailed enough for the company to pick up implement it directly without hiring for the role you posted?

Question 1
All the typical PM questions: 1. Business model of Trivago 2. How do we make money? 3. Who are our largest partners? As far as the difficulty was concerned, they were easy to answer if you have a decent PM experience. However, the Hiring Manager was giving away her inexpertise in the field buy repeting the same question in different words. As far as the case study is concerned, it took 3-4 days to prepare and then creating a presentation for the same. However, all these efforts were in vain as non of the interviewees took the time to read through my case study and was simply asking random questions regarding my approach. If they'd put some efforts to read it through, the whole conversation could have been much better. But it also showed their lack of understanding simple PM concepts like prioritization, stakeholder management etc. It didn't work out in the end (obviously) but it was quite an experience. My only suggestion to fellow applicant would be not to invest more than 3-4 hours to solve the case study as they hardly care about it! It's just how things works at Trivago.
