I interviewed with the Director of Operations and the Senior Publicist. The in-person interview entailed two parts - a verbal interview and a mock email pitch to a publisher for a hypothetical new realty development. The interactive part of the interview went very well as both were pleasant to connect with. Although, the mock assignment was conducted unfairly as I was informed that I had 45min to complete it, and the computer was removed from me after 35min. I allocated the specified time to devise a high quality pitch and this premature submission resulted in an incomplete mock email pitch. I was informed in my interview request email that the process would take 1hr, and I would therefore assume that they only factored in 15min for the conversational part of the interview. About 30min was spent in the discussion prior the mock assignment, so I am left to assume that they took the computer away prematurely due to not time slotting appropriately, which resulted in this unfair experience and disadvantage against other candidates that were able to craft their pitch with 45min.
