      Mechanical Design Engineer Interview

      Feb 3, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at denton vacuum in Feb 2016

      Interview

Normally, I don't like to speak negatively on processes like these, but I want to ensure that people are aware of the situation and encourage others NOT to apply. After applying online, it took weeks for a PHR ("Professional" Human Resources) to send me a two-sentence e-mail, requesting to set up a phone interview and requested my salary expectations. As a human being, and without knowing enough to judge a compensation level relative to the role and skills required, I replied that I'd be happy to answer that with more information, or if they would provide a budgeted range. As to "not waste anyone's time," the HR woman rejected me in her next reply for not providing the information. My conclusion from the brief exchange is that Denton Vacuum is solely interested in salary expectations. I also believe that in all the time you interact with a company, they will treat you best during the hiring process. Unless Denton learns to respect their job candidates like clients or customers, their efforts to not "waste time" will become a source of their downfall.
