My experience with deVere Group was extremely disappointing and unprofessional from start to finish. The initial interview was poorly conducted—the interviewer didn’t ask about my qualifications, nor did he provide any insight into the actual role. Shockingly, he even admitted he didn’t want to interview me simply because I had an analyst background, which he claimed he generally "doesn’t like."
After that, I was asked to join a webinar hosted by the CEO, which felt more like a social media influencer pitch than a professional company presentation. Still without a formal offer or any information on salary, benefits, or job responsibilities, I was then expected to attend four days of unpaid training sessions, totaling 16 hours, mainly focused on prospecting and cold calling.
After passing their assessment, I received an automated rejection email stating I had a "bias against their commission structure"—despite never being given any details on compensation at any stage. This felt dishonest and was a poor excuse after wasting a full week of my time.
Later, I learned from others who received offers that the role includes no relocation support. You’re expected to pay for your own accommodation, background check, visa, and even arrive on a tourist visa—not a work visa. The only financial support is a 6,000 AED/month base salary, which is extremely low for Dubai, especially considering the out-of-pocket expenses required to get started.
Being asked to do your own background check was the final red flag—I've never encountered a company that operates this way. In my opinion, this entire process borders on being exploitative. I strongly advise job seekers to avoid this company.
