The interview process is time consuming for the interviewee - so beware before you get in too deep.
They invested very little time (a 30 minute video chat) before asking me to do "homework." First of all, this is basically free contractor work by having outside people brainstorm on your product. If an interviewer wants you to code, or write a sample article, or give a sample (general) sales presentation ... then that's fair. But App Annie has interviewees come up with strategy to sell their products and they want full funnel strategy and objection handlers. Usually assignments given by companies that want you to solve their problems to this level is a huge red flag (as opposed to highlighting your skills). And they have 5-6 Director/VP level people who sit in on the homework presentation you've prepared about their product. It's really odd and desperate. It was also really odd/desperate that they wanted me to role play with the 6 higher level executives on how to sell their Intelligence product. You could tell they were digging for ideas.
I was happy to not move forward after this step.
