      Developer Interview

      Feb 2, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at cPanel (Houston, TX) in Sep 2020

      Interview

First was a task to build a small, CLI-executable application. From there I was selected for an interview. This was a panel interview with about 2-3 folks. After this I was moved to the next round, where this interview lasted about 4 hours of 6-7 people watching you code, asking various questions, etc. I wouldn't say it was difficult, however having eyes starting on me while having me code something in Google Slides was pretty hard. I couldnt test or prove anything. I know very few programmers who can code an entire project in notepad and expect it to be correct. I also had to explore some python scripting and resolve that issue.
