I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Zoox (Foster City, CA) in Mar 2024
Interview
The interview process involves bunch of rounds for a summer internship. After the phone screen the candidate will be invited to do a Trivia and Low Level Design Round. The candidate has the option (based on role) to choose a language for this round. The trivia round can get longer which will leave little time for the LLD task.
I applied online. I interviewed at Zoox in Mar 2026
Interview
This was for an internship. After the recruiter call, an interview was scheduled. Asked C++ object-oriented concepts followed by a custom problem. They were essentially looking for how comfortable I was with C++.
The process was very smooth. It began with an Online Assessment (OA), followed by a recruiter screen. Next was a technical round focused on Python and OOP principles. The final stage consisted of two back-to-back interviews: one with the hiring manager and a second technical coding session.

The interview process feels very thorough. Everything went smoothly, and they were quite responsive and supportive throughout. Positive experience overall. It starts with an online screening, which was not as easy as others I have done.
