      Account Executive Interview

      Oct 5, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ZoomInfo (Boston, MA) in Aug 2021

      Interview

Three stage interview (took 2 weeks and they are very professional in moving quickly and not keeping you hanging). First interview was a 30 min screening call to discuss my experience, salary expectations, and a few company details that I had questions on. This is where I asked if WFH/REMOTE 100% was an option as I am NOT close to any offices and I'm not looking to move. I was assured that it is not a problem at all and would be able to stay remote. 2nd Stage: online assessment completed on my own time: Predictive index cognitive assessment I passed this and set up 3rd stage. 3rd: two 30 min interviews back-to-back with two sales directors. Both are nice guys and we had great conversations regarding sales methodologies and long-term goals/outlook. I was questioned about "why sales" "how do I overcome objections" and other more general questions. This issue came with my 2nd interview where I asked if there was any reason he might see an issue with hiring me. Candidly told me that because I am not local, it wouldn't be a good company fit. I definitely understand that, but it's annoying to go all the way through the process to then be told a conflicting fact - they DO want you in the office. I do not fault him, and I appreciated both of them taking the time. Just would have been nice to know.

      Interview

Check out the team on ZoomInfo, and you might get an idea of whether you'll be selected or not. My first-round interview with HR was a bit off, the recruiter came across as rude and rushed through the conversation. I didn’t hear back for 2 weeks until her colleague reached out to schedule the next round with two managers. Honestly, it was the worst interview experience I’ve ever had. Both managers seemed uninterested the moment they joined, one even showed up 10 minutes late without saying anything. Felt like they just wanted to get it done with, which made me feel very uncomfortable right from the start. Understand that work can be hectic, but I would’ve appreciated transparency or a rescheduled call rather than feeling like I was intruding on their time. Great company with excellent products, can definitely see why companies buy them, but the whole interview left such a bad impression.

      Interview

Multiple meetings with people up and down the org. Was turned away at some point with no feedback as to why. Maybe they get a lot of applicants, but they continue to fire lots of AE's every year. They also keep bringing in people with no software experience which is interesting.
