Spoke with the recruiter who was very cordial. Zimmer is pretty well known in the local community and having recently relocated there I had their station saved as a favorite already. This was one of my first interviews in the area and I was excited.
Was invited on site to speak with the Sales Director and later to present a sales pitch to the Sales Director and General Manager. They were both very charming and very aggressive in regards hiring at the time. Nothing wrong with sales here and I'm sure they are very successful in their market, the interview should be relatively easy for an Account Executive with experience.
I declined however, coming from a larger market, and working with several 7 figure clients previously, I quickly recognized it wasn't realistic in this market to hit the goal which I wanted in a short time. I would basically be starting all over. The digital aspect needed some work as well, having worked with digital agencies also that had 20 years of experience, it was relatively new to Zimmer. This would be great experience for someone local, who knows the market well and/or more entry-level, get in and learn the ropes from a reputable company in the area, but really wasn't a good fit for me.
