      Accounting Manager Interview

      Feb 22, 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at YipitData (New York, NY) in Feb 2020

      Interview

4 rounds - as mentioned by others as well At the beginning of the interview process it seems like impartial, skills and competency-based process but until the end of the process where i discovered it was not solely based on skills and competency nor experience. I gave 1st written assignment after which i was invited for a phone interview followed by a lengthy assignment that was time consuming. Then i was asked to take another call interview and was asked to fly in for a final round of interview. Due to uncontrollable issues at the airport i had to fly in on another day after spending 3+ hrs at the airport so i had to take 2 days off work and only the flight was paid all other expenses were out of pocket. At the final round I was told my assignment was one of the best. Also, around this point they asked me for my professional references who were rushed for availability. My references had to spare 30 min within 3 days window within work hours. I have given references earlier too but this time my references were not happy and felt like they were being interviewed/interrogated. Although I ticked all of their main requirements for the position the main reason they gave me for not hiring me for the positions was that relocation would be overwhelming for me where as they knew that I was in a different country to begin with and had already mentioned that I was willing to relocate as I had done this in the past as well. Although I respect management’s decision but I feel, my long-term commitment should have been judged at earlier stage and not after final round and especially not after checking my references. If you are interviewing with them keep in mind even if you do the best assignment and are almost sure of getting the job, please keep pursuing other opportunities as well. I regret missing this last point and was focused only on this role. Good luck to All

Interview Process: Step 1: Prescreening Assignment Step 2: First Round Zoom Interview Step 3: Second Round Zoom Interview Step 4: Take Home Exercise Step 5: Final Round Interviews Then they interview your references before making a final decision. They ask a lot of behavioral questions, explained what they were looking for, and referenced their values not only in their questions, but also in their answers. I feel like they walk the walk and prove it from the job description, interviewing, and to welcome emails from across the company when you get an offer.
