I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Xero (Sydney) in Sep 2019
Interview
Very nice people in terms of friendliness and openness during interviews I had. But a very long time between interviews with no communication even post follow up so I have no idea if role is still open or if I’m through to next round. It’s been three months so far. Spoke to a friend today who has had the same experience. Sounds like a great company but please don’t leave hopeful candidates hanging! I’d just love to close it off and get feedback even if unsuccessful.
1. Recruiter Screen (30 min)
2. Hiring Manager Intro (30 min)
3. Case Round (60 min)
4. Behavioral
5. Final round with some senior leader/director.
It is an extremely long drawn process with 1-2 weeks before you hear back after each round and then more time to schedule the next one.
This is quite weird for a company with almost no brand name, very limited presence, and not even a very top of the market type of salary. They are quite slow, confused, and inefficient. The individuals I met were quite nice though.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Recruiter screen was basic behavioral and questions about my past work ex. Hiring manager intro call was also similar, digging deeper into motivation for this role. Then the case round was a standard business case.
Convoluted, with multiple delays, much too many stakeholders and eventually a lack of insight into the company - apart from the fact that it isn't very organised and the culture isn't very good.
Tedious, lengthy process. Initial contact was flakey, but we got there eventually. Sadly, there was long delays between things and no to little comms. I get that this can be the situ with large companies.
