Interview
After applying, I got asked to schedule an interview. When I did I met with HR and the head of Marketing. The questions were very directed towards my experience and specifics for the role
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Williamsburg Academy (St. George, UT) in Aug 2020
Interview
1. Phone Screen-Was pleasant and asked basic questions regarding the ability to do the role
2. Interview with CEO and COO-Asked similar questions regarding the ability to perform the job. Was asked to be honest and truthful about who you are as a person and what you bring to the table.
3. Kolbe Assessment (Personality)-20-30 minute assessment that asks you what you would "most likely" do and "least likely" do in a situation. It is important not to think as the role would require you, but as you are.
4. Debrief with CEO about assessment-Dug deeper into the results of the assessment. You had to explain why you agreed or disagreed with the results and how that was or wasn't really you. The time allotted for this debrief did not seem fair as it was interesting to speak to the results of the assessment that you as the interviewee were not trained or certified to assess. Would have been nice to gain the perspective of the CEO of the results instead of having to explain them to him.
5. Panel Interview with Admin Team-COO reached out 2 hours prior asking for an interview the same day regardless of the interviewee's schedule or time. Was asked to be authentic regarding you as a person. Encouraged to open up and provide a layer of transparency that is not usually asked for in an interview. Created the "Culture of Belonging" environment that was preached throughout the interviewing process. Was told that they would be making their decision within the next 24 hours.
6. Offer/Rejection-24 hours came and went with no communication. 48 hours later was informed that they were moving forward with another candidate.
*Feedback-went over on time for several of the interviews because it seemed like the Leadership did not grasp what an HR Professional does. Later was critiqued on providing too much in detail information.
*Note to Employer: Do not promote/preach a "Culture of Belonging" if that is not what you are about when it comes to your people. Diversify, Include, and develop Equity in your hiring process.
