Interview
The entire process took about 2 months and started with a 30 minutes screening call with a recruiter. A writing assessment followed, then 2 panel interviews with 4-5 panelists in each, mostly managers and/or senior writers at the company. Unlike what a previous reviewer experienced, all my interviewers had their camera on, which I appreciated.

Interview
I first met with the HR/Hiring Manager for a phone screen. She was really helpful and helped me understand the role and hiring process better. Once she could confirm that I had the necessary qualifications for the role, I was asked to schedule a writing test and an interview with a panel of current writers and writing managers. It was really positive and dare I say, fun? I got a great sense for the culture of the company and that I would be able to be open and myself with this group. The writing test was very doable for someone with previous academic writing experience. However, I did include a cover letter and resume that had the wrong company name in the header (not Whitsell Innovations!) and we had a good laugh about it. Sometimes they do two interviews, but WI offered me a position after one to allow me to make a decision more quickly. I appreciated the candor of the interviewers and clarity of the process.

Question 1
Writing test: I do not know if everyone has the same test.
Interview questions: typical HR style questions about teamwork and leadership; responding to criticism and interest in training.

Interview
Mostly behavioral questions, with some questions about my writing preferences, experience and knowledge of medical writing, particularly within a pharmaceutical context. First round was a writing test, followed by two hour-long online interviews with a panel of 4-5 individuals each. The video was turned off, which was a little discombobulating with that many individuals. The CEO is present on one of the panels. Most people were very nice, but would ask questions again if they felt you did not fully explain them to their satisfaction. They contacted references but ended up selecting another candidate. Long process overall, especially for an internship.
