After a few networking calls, I applied to the position online, and the overall process took over 6 weeks. It included a phone screen with the recruiter, a 30 minute phone call with the hiring manager, a 4-hour interview with the team (no breaks), and another 45-minute phone call with the hiring manager. For the 4 hour team interview, I was asked to turn an existing new hire activity into a new, 20-minute virtual activity. For the last interview with the hiring manager, I was asked to put together a kickoff meeting agenda, a project plan, and a learning design document for several training courses. The prep for each of these added up to several days worth of work. When the additional round was added while I was on a family vacation, they still expected me to take time from my vacation to complete the work.
Overall, both the interview process and the job description changed during each phase. While the recruiter provided updates and was responsive, the overall process failed to provide a positive candidate experience.
