I applied online. I interviewed at West Midlands Trains (Birmingham, England) in May 2026
Interview
Initially after being shortlisted I was asked to complete OPC psychometric testings, after passing that I was invited to complete an English & Maths assessment
It seemed from the in-person maths assessment that both WMT & BMet don't have amazing communication, as emails from both contradict eachother and aren't very clear. BMet also contradict themselves, by originally saying that not having exam certificates would prevent further progression, despite the fact they would. They also said that having a statement of results from the school would be valid, even though it wasn't. Overall a not very good experience

Interview
Initial CV sift, competency based interview then final interview at Head Office in Birmingham.
Unfortunately they didn’t have the courtesy to even let me know the result after the final interview round which is poor.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at West Midlands Trains in Mar 2025
Interview
I received an email to confirm salary expectations and then an invitation to a recorded video interview with a week to complete, but I did not progress past that stage. The video interview site gives you an opportunity to practice. The practice sessions all had 6 questions but I was offered 2 in the actual interview. You are give 20 seconds to prepare your answer after seeing the questions and 90 seconds to record your answer.
