Unprofessional Hiring Process, Severe Misalignment, and Poor Communication
I had a highly disappointing interview experience with Wesco. After successfully clearing multiple technical rounds, I was asked to travel from Pune to the Wesco Innovation Center in Whitefield, Bangalore, for a face-to-face interview and a final HR discussion.
Despite being completely transparent about my current offers and compensation expectations from the very beginning, the HR representative, Kasturi Sinha, informed me during the final discussion that the company was "tight on budget" and could not match the numbers. Additionally, I was told that relocation expenses would not be covered.
It is highly irresponsible to invite a candidate for an interstate, in-person interview when the company's budget does not align with the candidate's clearly stated expectations. This resulted in an unnecessary waste of my personal time and financial resources.
To make matters worse, the post-interview communication was virtually non-existent. I followed up consistently for two weeks, but the HR contact completely ghosted my calls and emails. A simple, polite rejection would have been professional, but the absolute lack of accountability and response speaks volumes about the internal communication gaps and candidate care at this organization.
I highly recommend that future candidates clarify budget alignments multiple times before investing their own money in travel. Organizations must take responsibility for their recruitment processes and ensure their HR teams exhibit basic professional courtesy.
