      Product Designer Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Webio in Apr 2023

      Interview

Ten days after I submitted my application on LinkedIn, I was invited for a 10 minutes intro call. The interviewer seemed very interested in my profile, and "I was the only candidate they had contacted up to that point." After this call, they asked me to complete a mini-design project within five days. A few hours after I submitted the project, they told me, "I passed the test project with flying colors." Then they invited me for the next round of interviews. This round was a Technical Interview with the designer and COO about my ways of working. They told me they would get back to me in a week. After a week, I didn't hear back from them; I sent them a follow-up email. A few hours later, I received a job offer from them with good compensation. However, the start date was two months away, and they wanted a confirmation within two days. Since I was also waiting for offers from other companies, I asked them for three additional days to decide and questioned why the start date was in two months. To my surprise, they retracted the offer. They wrote, "We respect your need to evaluate all opportunities presented. However, in light of recent developments, we feel it is in the best interest of both parties to explore other options at this time." This experience was heartbreaking. However, I noticed they didn't hire any designers for a few months afterward, so maybe it was for the best. I am glad I didn't quit my current job and ended up unemployed.
