      Localization Project Manager Interview

      Dec 6, 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at WeWork (New York, NY) in Nov 2017

      Interview

After the initial phone call with their HR recruiter, the hiring manager held a 30-min video conference. WeWork is building a platform to support its localization needs in the coworking/ real estate sector. This is a good opportunity to be part of a development team responsible for internationalization of their products for members. That said, I wish them good luck finding a hire with the skill set they are looking for. Unfortunately, it's not likely to be someone from the language services industry, as they are looking for a technical manager with engineering skills.

      Localization Project Manager Interview

      Jun 22, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at WeWork (New York, NY) in Jun 2018

      Interview

Initial phone screen with HR, two rounds of phone interviews (on Zoom), followed by an all-day onsite in New York at company HQ. At all stages the response from WeWork was both quick and thorough, and the onsite was a great way for me to learn about my potential coworkers, their current mission, and how it plays into WeWork's overall strategy. During my onsite interview I interacted with a wide variety of very diverse employees who were all energetic and passionate about working at the company. I had a strong sense during the 4-hour onsite interviews that the match was not as strong as I'd hoped previously hoped, in part due to the amount of sheer noise throughout the open floor plan of HQ (I prefer to have a lot less commotion), and also due to what felt as a bit of a disjointed process (many of the questions focused on my understanding of roles, processes, and technologies that had nothing to do with what my job would have been as set out in the job description). Although I believe it is fair to attribute some of this to the rapidly changing nature of a startup in rapid growth mode, it did give me the impression that, as someone else who interviewed for this role on Glassdoor also noted, perhaps WeWork does not know what they actually want from this role. I appreciate the chance to learn so much about the company prior to any offer and I wish that other companies had as thorough an approach as the team at WeWork does.
