Waste of time
Completed 3 rounds of interviews over the span of around 4-5 weeks. Was told after the final round which included a presentation on an upcoming video game release that my interviews went very well but candidacy was unsuccessful due to the hiring manager thinking not having a background in the gaming industry would be a steep learning curve.
On my half, this was made very clear from the start from my cv, but I was willing to take on a new challenge to immerse myself in a new industry (coming from a tech background with 2 years of experience).
The team at Warner Brothers could have made this clear in the job description as a "necessity", the resume screening, the recruitment call, the second round interview with the hiring manager, instead of putting a candidate through several rounds, through to the final round only to be rejected on this basis alongside them deciding that the job description and role title will now be changed to something else.
From personal experience, don't get your hopes up and be careful when applying. I was extremely excited about this role but the feedback I received regarding not having experience within the industry being the sole reasoning behind the unsuccessful candidacy after completing all interview stages was extremely surprising and quite frankly unprofessional that this wasn't the first thing that was communicated. To top that off, they told me that the job title and description will be changed to something else and re advertised.
Complete waste of time and extremely disheartening, just shows how little companies care about the effort candidates put into job applications. Will definitely not be applying to WB ever again.
