Terrible waste-of-time interview. The new CEO contacted me directly to interview. I had a first amazing interview with the chief of staff, one Zoom second interview that was long and meandering with the CEO, then a third in person interview that went fine, too. I sent a follow-up email the next day and received a pretty fast response that I was 'extremely negative.' I found that hilarious because I've had many public facing roles in the past at organizations that gave me accolades. I've even won awards. Shortly after that third interview rejection, I started seeing newspaper articles about "the reign of terror at WQED." Not long after that I started seeing mass resignations and lawsuits. I saw highly respected nonprofit leaders from major organizations with extremely long and celebrated tenures starting and then leaving rapidly after a few weeks. I think the board of directors should examine very closely the current CEO's contract and see if he is in violation of any of its terms because this is the home of Mister Rogers Neighborhood and it's terribly sad to see it mired in constant controversy. I know people personally who were fired after only a few days.
