HR called first, mainly asked about knowledge about the inventory industry, people managing experience including hiring, and hobbies. 2nd run I was asked in an email by the District Manager, 2 levels higher than my position, to go to a retailer they are working to meet with an area manager who is 1 level higher than mine. Basically he introduced what they are doing with all the counters working there. Asked me about the inventory experience, why interested. And then I was told I was hired, started talking about salary and procedure, and was later asked to meet with my direct supervisor for paper work.

The interviewers were 15 minutes late. I could hear them laughing behind the doors and figured their last session was going longer than expected. I had arrived 10 minutes early, so had spent a total of 25 minutes waiting. I was just about to leave when the Regional Manager stepped out of the room and feigned shock that I had been waiting - blamed the front desk staff. First red flag. He should have come out to check instead of his fun session inside. The second red flag was during the interview. The men were all young and seemed extremely inexperienced. They asked questions unrelated to inventory management and seemed genuinely uncertain how to conduct an interview. The third red flag was when they told me that women didn't really work in their field. Inappropriate. I wish I had called them on it. Conclusion: the workplace vine they try to sell you on is crap, the hours are unstable and the salary isn't what a manager should be making. Walk away from this organization. Or run.
