      Front End Developer Interview

      Jul 17, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Paris
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at W3lead (Paris) in Mar 2023

      Interview

I want to share my experience with the interview process at W3Lead. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the opportunity to interview with this company. The process was informative and gave me valuable insights into the role and that organization. The initial 20-minute informational video call with the lead developer was engaging, and I appreciated the chance to discuss my background and answer relevant questions. The second round, with the founder, was enlightening as well, where he clearly laid down the role's expectations and the interview process, including the technical test. The technical test itself was challenging but fair. I received positive feedback on my initial deliverable, and I was encouraged to make improvements to align it better with the Figma mockup. I appreciated the chance to showcase my skills and the prompt response from the hiring team. However, during the process, I noticed a shift in the criteria for the role. At the beginning, it seemed like the company was open to hiring juniors and focused on providing opportunities for candidates to showcase their skillset. But as the process progressed, it became apparent that the preference shifted towards candidates with more senior experience. This change left me feeling somewhat uncertain about the role and whether I was the right fit. Despite not receiving an offer, I genuinely enjoyed discussing my previous projects and sharing what excites me in the development field during the final interview. It was a valuable experience that provided me with insights into my strengths and areas for growth. To conclude, I am thankful for the interview experience and the chance to learn more about W3Lead. I believe they have some great aspects, but the shift in criteria left me with mixed feelings about the role. As with any interview process, honesty and transparency about the role's requirements can significantly impact a candidate's experience.
