The process took 1 day. I interviewed at W.W. Norton (New York, NY) in Oct 2009
Interview
I applied to the internship via Norton's official website, received an email the next morning, and arranged for an interview the week after. The interview was very relaxed. You just need to provide solid reasons for wanting to be part of the publishing industry, and demonstrate some general knowledge of the industry. Be sure to bring some of your own questions as well.
My interviewers were kind, asked fair questions, and overall conducted a professional interview without being intimidating. Although I did not receive an offer, I would apply to work for them again based on this interview experience.
