I first completed an online coding assessment, which went well. After that, I had a recruiter screening, followed by a second coding assessment with a software engineer. The interview was 45 minutes long, but the problem had an unnecessarily lengthy description, and the codebase I had to work with was quite large. It took some time to understand the pattern and get up to speed. Overall, it went okay, but I had a sense that the interviewer and I were not quite aligned, and they ultimately did not move forward with my application.
One piece of feedback I’d offer: maintaining a basic level of professionalism in interviews matters—something as simple as appropriate attire (not wearing a tank top as an interviewer) can make a difference in setting the right tone for a first interaction.
