      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Viridien in Dec 2022

      Interview

First round was an online one-way interview. The questions were about soft skills like team working etc. , whether you are considering pursuing higher education, what you've read about the company's technologies, and 3 technical questions. These last questions were simple but the time pressure made it trickier. After that I had a non-assessed teams meeting with the recruiter who gave me more information about the company and gave me the opportunity to ask questions. The recruiter had experience in the role I was applying for, so was able to give me a good insight into the job. Final round was a 15 minute presentation and an hour of questions with 3 interviewers. The presentation was divided into 3 sections: one about me, one about a project I have worked on and one about a technology that they asked me to learn about. For the latter I was given a paper to read and a video to watch to help me prepare. After that I was given an offer and spoke with two recent graduates over teams. I was pleased with the offer and had a good impression of the company but declined in order to pursue higher education.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Viridien (Crawley, West Sussex, South East England, England) in Jun 2023

      Interview

Submit a CV/Cover Letter, and following this you'll be arranged a set of video interview questions (two of which are simple numerical ones at the level of A-level- you won't be asked anything nasty.) After the digital portion, you'll get a 1.5 hour interview- three presentations (personal, technical about your own project, then about one of their technologies.) The three interviewers were quite nice and speaking candidly was fine in instances- I didn't feel as though it was excessively formal. My advice would be to really research your chosen topic- I spent two days researching mine and knowing the physics background really helped (given that two of the interviewers were physics-oriented.) Also, one more bit of advice- on your "Technical Talk" about your own chosen previous project, make it very very generalist- I misunderstood this bit and made assumptions on the level to which it should be given that I shouldn't have. They don't want to know the details of how you carried out the analysis itself, propagated errors, etc etc- just the rough outline of the project as if explained to layman audiences. The questions will be where that'll pop up more in detail. Good luck!
