      Sailor Services Interview

      Dec 1, 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Virgin Voyages in Nov 2022

      Interview

I had previously made it through 5 rounds of interviews with VV only to be told no and that I could be referred internally to another position. After three more interviews for a different position, I received a phone call saying I lived in a state in which VV is not eligible to hire (remote work). I am incredibly frustrated by the experience as I had made it through multiple interview rounds on both occasions, 8 interviews total, to be told I do not live in a state they are able to hire in. Verifying information like state of residence should be confirmed before even extending an invitation to interview.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Virgin Voyages in Nov 2018

      Interview

Best interview ever. Everything was smooth and efficient and also well thought out, personalized and fun. Aside from having experience that fits the role, they are definitely searching for people that fit into the company culture (positive, friendly, innovative, open minded). I was excited to apply for a position with Virgin because I’d heard what a great company they are. When a role that I had experience for came up, I quickly applied online. I got an email from a recruiter a couple of days later with an invitation for a phone interview. I chose a time online and I got a prompt phone call where I told the recruiter about my background and she explained the role, the salary and the hiring timeline. We set up a time for an interview for a few days after that. I came in to the office (which is so beautiful and clearly designed by top designers), and was greeted by literally everyone who works there! I was offered homemade lemonade (or any beverage of my choice ) and left to chat with the employees that were hanging around the central coffee bar area. Everyone was friendly and approachable and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. After a few minutes, I was walked to a small meeting room where two interviewers were waiting for me, with a sweet welcome message on the wall. The interview questions are pretty standard, I explained my background, we discussed the position, talked about why I wanted to work for Virgin. The format of the interview was very conversational, not formal or stiff and that made it fun. After it was over, I didn’t want to leave the office.
