      Application

I interviewed at Vestiaire Collective (Paris)

      Interview

At first, it seemed like a very straight forward process: a first approach asking me to confirm my availability for a specific time slot, then the interview, and so on. Well, I had my interview with the Global Talent Acquisition Specialist. It lasted around 40-45 minutes. Not a single question asked in French, even though the role was for the French market. Anyway, everything went pretty well during the interview. Later on, after almost 10 days and a follow-up email sent to the recruiter, I received an AUTOMATED EMAIL, yeah, an automated email from LinkedIn saying, “Unfortunately, we will not be moving forward with your application, but we appreciate your time and interest in Vestiaire Collective.” The same kind of email you get when they reject your CV in the very first phase. This never happened to me after an interview. I’ve received calls, mostly, and emails explaining the decision, and providing feedback sometimes. I even sent another email to the recruiter asking if that was some sort of mistake because, again, that doesn’t happen (or at least I thought so at that moment). The only thing I can think of is that I positioned myself at the highest part of their salary bracket given that I had more than the “maximum” experience listed in the job description, and other skills. Of course, I guess the company believes it’s more unprofessional to say “we found someone better qualified (and cheaper!) than you for this role” than simply leaving you in the absolute dark during days, and sending an automated email. That’s not respecting others’ time and efforts. I guess it’s partially also on me for having kind of high expectations about this company. Anyhow, if you get an interview with them, be aware of all this, and explicitly demand what’s the timeframe for providing feedback. In any case, they won’t most likely honor it, I guess, after seeing their way of doing business.
