      Finance Manager Interview

      Jul 22, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Ciudad de Mexico
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Very (Ciudad de Mexico) in Jul 2022

      Interview

The interview process began with an interview with the CFO. He informed me that the next step was to solve a Harvard Business School case study, which he estimated would take no more than 5 hours (let´s take into account that my native language is Spanish, not English, and solving it was going to take more time). This was quite frustrating, but I decided to proceed. The case actually took me three days to complete, as I worked on it Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights after finishing my regular workday. I put a lot of effort into the case, and the presentation turned out well. However, on Thursday, I received an email just a couple of hours later stating that I would not be moving forward in the process as they were continuing to search for the other candidates (they never hired anyone, btw). This was quite upsetting because if he already knew in advance that I did not have the profile he was looking for, why make me complete a Harvard business case that was very time-consuming to solve? This was very unprofessional on the part of the CFO.
