      Mechanical Engineer Interview

      Apr 6, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Greenville, SC
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Vertiv (Greenville, SC)

      Interview

The overall interview process was good, but during it, they were evaluating whether I fit for an entry-level or mid-level position, which confused me. The technical round went well, and the interview feedback was positive, but I realized at the end that I was evaluating for a mid-level role. While the first round was for entry-level candidates, I was told I didn't need to worry about expectations on my end.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Vertiv (Columbus, OH) in Dec 2025

      Interview

It was a generic interview - focused on my resume and my background in product engineering. Specifically on designing and the software I used. My first round was with the hiring manager.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Vertiv

      Interview

Pretty standard interview process. Phone screen with HR rep, followed quickly by a Microsoft Teams interview with hiring managers from different departments with open positions. There were only 2 days between the phone screen and "face to face" interview, and they mentioned that they were looking to move quickly on this position. After the interview, all communication stopped completely. I followed up 3 times (with reasonable time between each follow-up; not all at once) and never heard anything back. It has been 2 months since the last interview, so I think it is safe to assume I did not get the job. I understand not responding to all candidates that send in applications, but I believe if you take someone's time to interview, you should have the decency to send them a response (even just a form email - anything!). Rude and unprofessional, and overall a waste of everyone's time - 0/10.
