I interviewed for a role at Vanta and went through two rounds: 1. A recruiter phone screen and 2. A hiring manager screen. The recruiter was very friendly and professional, and our conversation was pleasant. The recruiter communicated promptly and responsibly, which I really appreciated.
The hiring manager interview, however, felt different. From the start of the meeting, there was no proper greeting or introduction, and the overall tone of the conversation felt rushed. The questions asked were quite general, and there wasn’t much focus on skills or qualifications. Additionally, I noticed the hiring manager kept yawning throughout the interview, which made it difficult for me to feel fully engaged and confident.
While I understand that interviews can vary, this experience left me feeling uncertain about the process. If scheduling constraints or other priorities were an issue, I would have appreciated the opportunity to reschedule. Overall, I hope the process can be improved for future candidates to ensure a smoother experience.
