My experience interviewing with Vail Resorts was incredibly disappointing and showed a complete lack of professionalism and common courtesy. The interview process consisted of a recruiter screen, an interview with the hiring manager, 2 panel interviews, and a final round with a case study.
Right from the start, my recruiter was incredibly unprofessional. She missed our initial interview, leaving me to take the initiative and reschedule. Communication became virtually non-existent after my panel interviews. She ignored all of my follow-ups, so I had to go directly to the hiring manager for an update. The recruiter would string me along with breadcrumbs of information, promising to provide an update by a certain time but never following through. After my final interview, I didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks, so once again I decided to follow up with the recruiter. Her response: “Sorry I meant to tell you yesterday, we decided to go with someone else.”
I understand if I'm not the candidate you’re looking for, but after investing almost 2 months of my time into 5 rounds of interviews, I deserve more than a generic rejection. I believe I would’ve been ghosted if I hadn't been so persistent in following up. If you value a respectful and transparent interview process, don’t waste your time applying here.
