Multiple over the phone interviews with senior and lead developers that varied from direct QA to ambling technical conversations depending on the personality of the interviewer. A deep technical focus was more valued than interpersonal/workplace questions, being stumped on a question wasn't an immediate failure.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Upsun (Irvine, CA) in Jul 2019
Interview
I had five interviews (two technical, two behavioral, and one company expectations). They have an incredibly senior organization: everyone is very sharp, technically versed, and confident in their respective spaces. Compared to the rest of the organization I was very junior. However, they still expressed confidence that I'd be a good fit given my background (part-time remote work with lots of autonomy). Celine (People Ops) was very helpful and kind during the interview process as well.
If you have a background in remote work, and (preferably) are a more senior individual (although there might be exceptions for mid-level--as was the case for myself), then I'd recommend that you check out Platform.sh!
