      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Columbia, SC) in Apr 2019

      Interview

I worked for USPS before, so I already had 473 test results 84.7 Timeline: April 7th: Applied Online April 7th: Mail Handler Online Test: 99 April 11th: Interview Email Notification April 17th: Interview April 25th: Status Change to PreHire List May 2nd: Conditional Job Offer Email with Background Check and Drug Test Scheduled May 2nd: Status Changed to Offer EXT Interview was a group interview. They stated they were hiring 16 people and had 30 interviews. First group was on Wednesday that had higher scores and were Veterans. Second group was on Thursday who were left after Veterans. (I was in this group) There were supposed to be 15 people at each interview day but, only 6 showed up on my interview day. They sat us down and described the job and we filled out papers with 2 forms of ID. We also were fingerprinted. One by one, everyone was given an interview separate. Asked why I wanted to work there and if I was okay with long hours and night shift. I described my previous experience. They will rehire former employees who left on good terms. (relocated, medical, ext) Which I did leave on good terms. I was told I would be recommended for the job. I recieved the conditional job offer through email and I accepted. I also received emails to fill out background check and schedule a drug test. I've been through the process before for a post office and it took one month from applying to get a conditional offer and another month until I started orientation. I believe it will be 1 to 2 weeks until I get an email for orientation after my drug tests and background checks clear. Conditional offers aren't official unless you pass a background check and drug test. I know I will pass, so I am good to go. This is a processing plant, so it may be quicker. I will be working exactly were interview was held and where orientation will be held. The offices are attached to the plant.
