I saw a signage in Bay Cities Ca Long Beach area. $16 dtarting pay looking for city carrier assistants. Filled out online application on 3.18.2016. Received an email to take 473 exam, scheduled appointment. Received an invite to take drug test, select location, and print form. I recieved the background check email and completed these forms. I was then invited about a week later to an interview in Los Angeles on april 6 2016. There was alot of people and we were briefed on the details of the position and informed on the difficulty and hustle that is expected. Then we were called by HR staff according to the exam scores and asked to verify information in online application We were given an opportunity to disclose any criminal conviction or terminations on a seperate paper. Then sent to a gentleman to review whether or not these clarifications would be permitted. Then i was called upon by a postmaster from the dostrict who asked why i want to work there. And i said 16 dollars an hour with what sounds like tons of hours. He asked if i was told on friday i dont work on saturday, then get a call at 6 am sat would i answer the phone. He stressed communication and asked if i was scared of dogs. He asked about an irate customer and where i lived. It seemed that i did well. He said show up on time dont call out there is room to grow and was very encouraging. He said congratulations, good luck and take care. I am hopeful and awaiting an acceptance email.
