      Application

      I interviewed at US Navy

      Interview

Very thorough, but rely too much on physical health and psychology. Focus on leadership style and ability, but are more concerned with how to get the job done when you get in.

      Interview

Applying to be a commissioned officer in the military (specifically the Navy, as this is my service) is completely different than civilian organizations. You may never meet the hiring manager when you interview. I have interviewed many people to become an officer, through different commissioning programs. I have completed a standard interviewing appraisal for each applicant that is then sent off to a hiring board for consideration.

      Anonymous employee
      Las Vegas, NV
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at US Navy (Las Vegas, NV) in Feb 2017

      Interview

I initially met an officer recruiter and filled out basic paperwork. I had to take a test that is called the Aviation Selection Test Battery to determine if I was a competitive applicant other than my GPA from college. Next step was medical at MEPS, which was painful. After MEPS, I completed the application for commission and SF-86 for my security clearance. Application was presented to a board and determined if I received a commission or not.
